Me Time?

I mentioned some time ago that Miss A had decided to quit having naps. In addition to this she has now started getting up about an hour earlier than usual. This hour was valuable to me. I would use it either to catch up on needed rest or to have some quiet time to myself before having to start the day. It's not simply the getting up an hour earlier, it's the yelling "Mama! Mama! MAMA! It's wake up time!" that comes along with it. And if I don't haul my butt to her room pronto she catapults herself out of the crib herself, which I try to discourage telling her to "Wait for Mama!"

I've already had some difficulty sleeping through the night even when Miss A does. This lack of sleep is catching up with me. Not to mention the whole, eight weeks spent on my bum with people looking after me (I'm not complaining) followed by suddenly jumping right back into work and housework and everything. Sigh. Just feeling a bit rundown.

When you are feeling rundown it's a bit scary trying to imagine how much more rundown I'll feel once this new baby arrives...

I guess when you sign on for this mom business you are signing away things like rest and me time. I do look forward to the day when I will have those things again. And I except that the choices I have made make those things nearly impossible to have at the moment. That's okay. I'm going to make it.

When kids hit new stages there's always an adjustment period. I hope it's not long for you and you'll have some time to get rested before #2 comes along.
We must talk soon!

Hang in there! I didn't find that it got any worse after the baby was born. I always got annoyed when people told me, "Your life is going to change," because by that point, it already had.

Also, keep reminding yourself that although it feels like an eternity, it really is only an eyeblink in time. The full nights of sleep, the me-time - all of it will return. After the long winter there is always a spring.

I feel for you, take care!

There are special blessings that come to Mama's. Claim them, they are yours... and pace yourself wherever you can. Like lay down on the couch while A gets her Yo Gabba Gabba on, it'll hurt you more than the baby if A hops on ya a bit.

I am just giddy for you! A baby! New!

Oy. Yeah, when the naps go by the wayside... brutal.

My sympathies, especially since you're dealing with pregnancy on top of it.

hang in there, "cause the me time does come back...
don't forget you have family and friends to help along the way...

my biggest advice when your second arrives??
don't play the superhero, and accept ALL the help offered!!!
i could always have A over for a play date with the girls!!!they'd LOVE to have a little one to spoil!

Heh...heh. You need to go read the post I just put up. Let me summarize - you will find a way.

Being pregnant with a child A's age is WAY hard, no doubt. All of this is temporary. Robby is already 7 months old. I don't know how that even happened.
